The fire chief of the Rothschild (WI) Fire Department died Monday of a suspectedheart attack.
A Rothschild EMS crew responded Monday evening when Chief Steve Fritz was found unresponsive in his home, according to theWasau Daily Herald(http://wdhne.ws/TSwxWP). He was taken to an area medical facility where he was pronounced dead.
Fritz was chief of the fire department since February 2007. He was with the department for 13 years before he was hired to replace Bill Paduan, who resigned in December 2006. Paduan died from complications of leukemia on June 12, 2010.
“He was more than a chief to everybody here, he was a friend,” said Rothschild EMS 1st. Lt. Christine Anderson.
