Two Wisconsin residents were severely burned in a large explosion near the Michigan border.
According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, the explosion occurred at a mobile home on Payette Road and Bomber Road Niagara, which is located near Michigan across the Menominee River, at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.
Propane Emergencies: Plan for Worst-Case Scenario
A male and female from Milwaukee were in the home trying to light a propane furnace that had gone out, according to deputies. They were both seriously injured and suffered severe burns.
Both victims were transported to Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain and later transported to another hospital in Wisconsin.
移动home, as well as a nearby garage and its contents, are a total loss, deputies said. No foul play is suspected.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Niagara Fire Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Integrity Care Paramedics and WE Energies Power Company.
