A police officer and two firefighters were injured Tuesday afternoon as crews battled a large blaze in Boston’s North End, reports myfoxboston.com.
The fire broke out just before 4 p.m. at 3 Stillman Place. Flames and smoke were showing when firefighters arrived at the 4-story brick building. The fire was on the third and fourth floors, officials say, and fire walls prevented the flames from spreading.
A police officer was treated by Boston EMS for smoke inhalation, and a firefighter was treated on the scene for a burn injury and then taken to the hospital. A second firefighter was also treated on the scene.
As of 6 p.m., the fire was out. The fire chief estimated about $1,000,000 of damage.
