Firefighters fought through extreme heat during search operations at a deadly fire Monday morning in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Incident Commander and Assistant Chief George Gomola told theWestport Daily Voice(http://bit.ly/1gkM8oU) that a coordinated team effort enabled crews to knock down the bulk of the fire while initiating an aggressive interior search. Three members reported pushed through difficult conditions to access the second floor bedroom of the burning home where the victims were located.

One person died and one person was injured in the fire. On arrival, firefighters found heavy fire on the first and second floors at the front and right side of the house.
