Elkhart (IN) — A woman is dead and another man is injured after both were found suffering from stab wounds following a fire at an Elkhart apartment building late Thursday.
According to a statement from Elkhart police, officers and firefighters were called to 935 Prairie St. at 10:09 p.m. Thursday on report of fire in the building.
During the investigation, a 50-year-old woman was found with stab wounds. She later died. Investigators also found a 49-year-old man with a non-life-threatening stab wound. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. A 16-year-old girl was also found, however, she was uninjured, according to police.
