A Florence (AL) house fire that occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning has left one dead.
According to the Florence Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, officers responded alongside the Florence Fire Department to a house fire call in the 500 block of Malone Circle.
Police officers assisted with securing the scene while Florence Firefighters fought to extinguish the flames. The firefighters eventually located a body in the house.
FPD and the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting a joint investigation concerning this incident.
The body has not yet been identified, it has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to be conducted.
Any further information about this incident will come from the Florence Fire Department or the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office.
