One person is in grave condition and four others were injured after a fire broke out at a two-story apartment complex in North Hollywood (CA), reports KTLA 5.
Firefighters were called to the fire at around 10:15 a.m., according to a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman. Fifty-five firefighters doused the flames in about 30 minutes.
Two people were transported to a local hospital, one in grave condition, fire officials said. Three others were treated and released at the scene.
The gravely injured man was found in a hallway with blood on his face, according to witnesses.
First responders said the man appeared to have suffered some sort of trauma, possibly from a fight, before the fire started.
