A firefighter fell through a floor Saturday evening, while battling a house fire in Takoma Park, Pete Piringer a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Fire Department said. The firefighter was able to escape safely without assistance, according to Piringer. No other injuries were reported, and no one was home at the time of the fire, reports wjla.com.
The cause of the fire was due to an electrical issue in the basement, and accidental in nature, according to Piringer. The fire then spread from the basement throughout the two-in-a-half story home.
