Fire on the roof of the 36-story Treasure Island resort sent smoke into the upper floors of the hotel on the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday.
The fire was quickly extinguished at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to an Associated Press report (http://abcn.ws/MbxamN). The malfunction of a cooling unit allowed to smoke into the structure.
Firefighters could see smoke on the 36th floor after it was evacuated, and some smoke was detected on other floors, according to a local official.
Medics checked 14 people at the scene, but no one was hospitalized and no serious injuries were reported.
