This year, Bryan (TX) Lieutenant Gregory Pickard was posthumously awarded the 2014 Ray Downey Courage and Valor Award. His widow and family were on hand to accept the award from PennWell CEO Robert Biolchini and Ray’s sons, Battalion Chiefs Joe and Chuck Downey of the Fire Department of New York.
