Firefighters had to deal with substantial smoke conditions during a fire at a pizza restaurant in Sydney, Australia.
About 1,200 people were temporarily displaced by the fire, which originated in a restaurant in a 20-story building at around 1 p.m. local time, according to The Sydney Morning Herald (http://bit.ly/12WtOxp).
Firefighters responding to the scene encountered a significant amount of thick, black smoke that blanketed the street. The fire reportedly began inside a pizza oven in the restaurant, and the buildup of fat and oil in the chimney may have contributed to the smoke condition. Photos from the scene show smoke billowing out of a building and covering a city block
