One person died and two others were injured early Tuesday in a two-alarm nursing home fire in DeKalb County, Georgia.
DeKalb Fire Chief Edward O’Brien told theAtlanta Journal-Constitution(http://bit.ly/X8OLWF) that the fire was contained to one room on the second floor of the two-story building and was extinguished by the facility’ssprinkler system.
One person in the fire room died and another was transported to the local trauma unit. Another person was treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital.
Seventy five of the nursing home’s 125 residents were displaced from the second floor to the first floor.
An investigation into the fire’s cause in under way.
