Indianapolis Woman Saves Elderly Neighbor from Fire

An Indianapolis (IN) woman is credited with saving the life of her elderly neighbor from a fire, reports wishtv.com.

The 70-year-old woman was asleep in her home when her garage caught fire around 1:30 a.m.

IFD officials say a neighbor who lives next door ran to the woman’s home to make sure she was okay. The woman broke a window of the home with her hand and was able to get her out of the burning house.

She suffered cuts to her hand, but did not suffer additional injury. The elderly woman was not injured in the incident.

Fire officials say the woman’s home had no working smoke detectors.
