On Saturday morning, 5.11 Tactical held a product showcase introducing several new and innovative pieces of apparel and accessories at FDIC 2010.
5.11 CEO Dan Costa headlined several special demonstrations of his company’s new job shirts, station wear, flashlights, and responder bags to a closed-door audience. Attendees were passed samples of the new products, which included the following:

Available in Fall 2010, theWildland Brush ShirtandBrush Pantsare designed to NFPA 1977 specifications. The shirt is made with six-ounce 88-percent cotton/12-percent nylon Ripstop Milliken Amplitude fabric, while the pants are made with 7.5 ounces. The shirt features a stand-up collar, adjustable cuff tabs, and flap pockets with hook-and-loop fasteners and ergonomic, tilted sleeve pockets. The pants have a self-adjusting waistband, hook-and-loop fastener adjustable lower legs, and seven utility-sized belt loops. The pants have double knees and both the pants and shirt are bartacked at all stress points.
All three of 5.11’s newEMS bags, including the响应者ALS 2900and theResponder BLS 2000,组织和配置为允许快速和easy location of their contents. Constructed to carry the maximum load, EMS bags feature a durable water repellent finish, will withstand daily treatments with disinfectants, and are machine washable. All bags have lockable zippers. Both bags have a top- and side-opening flap to provide easy access to the interior as well as additional storage capacity.
TheResponder 84 ALS Packis 5.11’s largest EMS pack and accommodates a full-size oxygen tank as well as removable IV and airway cases found in the ALS 2900 bag. Its hydration system is compatible with two tube ports at the top of the pack. The fully adjustable enhanced backpack strap system has dual density padding and a multiheight sternum strap. The padded waist belt has five molle slots on each side of the
buckle and fits waists up to 68 inches.
Also introduced at the demonstration was theLight for Life PC3.300 Flashlight.With no batteries and a 90-second charge time, the flashlight is powered by advanced capacitors using battery-free Flashpoint™ Power Technology. It rates for 50,000 charge/discharge cycles with virtually no degradation or memory issues—that means one charge a day for 135 years. The PC3.300 produces 200 lumens at peak output, 70 lumens in standard mode, and includes a 70-lumen strobe function. It is water-resistant and lightweight, and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, with a one-year warranty on the charger.
