A business is replacing localfirefighters‘ turnout gear after crews personal protective equipment (PPE) was wrecked fighting a fire in May at its facility south of Frederick, Maryland.
The Frederick News-Postsays firefighers’ PPE became coated with contaminants from an asphalt filtration system during188金博网网址多少operations at the TAMKO Building Products Inc. facility. Firefighters initially tried to clean the gear, but, according to Frederick County Fire Chief Tom Owens, there was “no way it could be cleaned for reuse.”
TAMKO is footing the bill for more than $70,000 worth of gear, the report said.
