Crews are making more progress on the Rough Fire in Fresno County. The wildfire has burned nearly 86,000 acres but is now 31 percent contained, reports abc30.com
Officials say the flames reached the Lewis Creek Drainage on Saturday and pushed northeast. Crews in the Cedar Grove area started a burn operation around the water treatment facility and CCC camp to direct the fire around those structures.
All campgrounds in Kings Canyon National Park are closed until further notice. Visitors heading to Sequoia National Park this holiday weekend are asked to drive with their headlights on and be extra cautious because of all the smoke.
