The I.A.F.C. Starts a Commendable Task

While the directors of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, in session in New York City recently, were formulating plans for a drive to place the fire service in all states under Civil Service, one of its directors, Chief M. M. Tawney, of Harrisburg, Pa., and his Assistant Chief, A. L. Patton, were forced to resign by newly elected political superiors.
