Wisconsin Municipal League Convention
The annual conventions of the Wisconsin Municipal League and the Wisconsin Paid Firemen's Association will be held in the city of Neenah, Wis., July 23, 24 and 25. In addition to the interesting and instructive programs arranged, the entertainment committee has left nothing undone to provide amusement for the delegates and their ladies. The firemen will hold their meetings at Eagle hall, while the municipal league convention will hold forth at the city hall auditorium. I he purpose of holding the both conventions in the same city at the same time seems to work out very well. While both conventions are independent of each other, the programs are arranged so that both participate in the same entertainment features, and this enables the convention city to provide better programs without materially increasing the expenses. Another reason for the success of the joint conventions is that the firemen come in contact with the legislative representatives of the city government directly, and where exhibits are held it is a much easier matter to get the mayor and aldermen interested in something they can see demonstrated than to go back home and try to tell them about it. At the convention they get their information first hand, and it is not difficult to show new fire-fighting devices and apparatus to city authorities who are in the market for such equipment as they can afford that will increase the efficiency of the department. The exhibits at Neenah will be held in the large hall one block from the convention halls, and free space will be afforded to all exhibitors.
