THERE has been introduced in the lower house of the Municipal Assembly, in New York, a bill to amend the city charter and empower the fire commissioner to retire at sixty years of age any member of the uniformed fire force, on not less than half pay, excepting a veteran of the Civil or the Mexican wars.
