What New York Firemen Want
The Uniformed Firemen's Association of New York City has submitted to the Mayor’s commissioner on municipal administration a communication which sets forth the wishes of the firemen's organization from the standpoint of probable revision of the city charter by virtue of the powers vested in the city authorities under the provisions of the home rule act, which now gives to the municipal authorities the right to legislate on matters heretofore confined to the state legislature.
In a communication signed by Fireman Albert E. Guinness, president of the Uniformed Firemen's Association, the firemen of New York have had this to say to the Mayor’s committee on municipal administration:
