WELL DRILLING NOTES.
The artesian well at Schroon lake, N. Y., has been sunk 1100 feet. The experts are still hopeful of striking gas or oil.
Eastman, Ga., is boring an artesian well. A depth of 310 feet has been reached, and still the drill goes down. At the depth of 273 feet a petrified conch shell about the size of a man's thumb was drawn out.
