Waterous Engine at Bridgeport
The following letter was received by the Waterous Engine Company recently with reference to the last motor engine delivered tp the city of Bridgeport, Conn.:
“Fire Department, Office of Fire Commissioners, Bridgeport, Conn., December 6, 1913: Waterous Engine Company, St. Paul Minn., Gentlemen:—At a meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners held Saturday, December 6th, 1913, I was instructed to inform you that Waterous motor fire engine has been offi daily accepted and ordered paid for: voucher for same, $10,000, will be passed December 10th. The Board wish me to say that they are well pleased with the performance of the engine during the test, which far exceeded the guarantee both for pumping and road duty. I am pleased to add that the first Waterous engine delivered to our city in June, 1012, is giving satisfactory service. The Board also wishes to extend to Mr. Waterous and Mr. Raddatz, your delivering engineer, its thanks for their courtesy and readiness to comply with the wishes of the Board during the trials.
