Water Works Extensions Voted Down
A proposed plan of extension of the water works and sewers to serve a considerable area located in the southwest section of Papillion, Neb., has been defeated by the village board at a recent meeting. This action resulted from a remonstrance signed by many citizens of the town. A remedy suggested is that of a bond issue to cover the entire town but there is some doubt whether even this would carry at this time.
The sinking fund commission of Bloomfield, N. J., intends to purchase at par and accrued interest an issue of $63,000 in bonds, the proceeds of which will take up notes of the water department. This decision was reached on recommendation by Chairman Hughes of the finance committee, who is a member of the commission.
