WATER SUPPLY
An exchange has this to say: R. D. Wirt may not have been born great, but he is certainly having greatness thrust upon him. He recently attended a convention of gas, water and electric light superintendents at Sedalia, where a state organization was perfected, to be known as the Missouri Water, Gas and Electric Light association. Mr. Wirt was elected treasurer of this new organization. Then during his absence from home he was elected president of the Independence Commercial club, prominently mentioned for councilman from the Third ward and indorsed as a member of the school board. Mr. Wirt is not contemplating the purchase of a larger sized hat, however.
The bid of Shaw, Kendall & Company of Toledo. O., for water works construction at Port Clinton, O., has been accepted at $35,638.
