Water Rates.
Fremont, Neb., has established a flat rate of $3.20 a month for fire hydrants, $25 for water used, in sprinkling streets, and $1.40 for the 14 flush tanks in the sewer system. The total water bill will be $500.
The minimum rate of $3, charged in Battle Creek, Mich., says Superintendent Brigden, will cover the amount of water consumption by a family of three or four for one year, providing there is not too much sprinkling done Superintendent Brigden also says that Battle Creek is at the bottom of the list relatively to the water consumption per capita. This, he declare*, is due to the good condition of the water mains.
