Vermont Firemen to Meet in Middlebury
Preparations are practically completed for the thirty-sixth annual convention and field day of the Vermont State Fireman’s Association, which is to be held at the Town Hall, Middlebury, Vt., on July 3 and 4. The convention is to be called to order by President H. W. Caswell on the morning of July 3, at ten o’clock, and the address of welcome will be delivered by John E. Weeks of Middlebury. An extensive program of entertainment has been provided by the local committee, and there will be a mixed carnival on both days. At 4 p. m. on the 3rd the members will inspect the exhibits, of which, according to F. M. Tiffany, chairman of the exhibit committee, there will be a large display. At 6 p. m. there will be a banquet, and at 8 dancing and a carnival.
On Saturday, July 4, the parade will occur at 10 a. m., with the local and visiting fire departments participating. At 1 p. m. there will be races and sports on the Fair Grounds. Edwin D. Moore, Bennington, is secretary of the association.
