UNIQUE DESIGN FOR FIRE STATION
Bungalow Type of Fire House for Anderson, Ind., Is a Striking Structure —Hose Tower Built In Under Roof
THE bungalow fire station for the city of Anderson, Ind., illustrated on this page is of unusual design, the high pitched roof and the separate chimney with metal bracing lending a particularly attractive appearance to the structure. The architect’s drawing and floor plan, furnished through the courtesy of E. F. Miller, of Anderson, architect of the station, give a very clear idea of the beautiful lines of the structure and the admirable arrangement of the interior. A unique feature is the construction of the hose tower, which is entirely contained within the building and extends from the basement through the first floor and tip under the ridge of the gable, the very high-pitched root enabling this type of construction. As will lx* seen by the plan, this tower is situated in the rear of the station.
