TOPICS OF THE DAY.
UNFORTUNATE Long Branch is again in trouble over its water supply, the Long Branch Water Company having cut off the supply because of the nonpayment of a balance of $3000 due it by the town on May 4. While as yet no harm has resulted, the possibilities in that inflammably built up place in case of fire are calculated to make townspeople and insurance men alike decidedly uneasy.
FROM the list printed elsewhere of the topics selected for discussion at the coming convention of the National Association of Fire Engineers it will be seen that the executive committee has performed its duty in this respect with most praiseworthy good judgment. The subjects cover a wide field, are eminently worthy of careful discussion, and have been assigned to the persons peculiarly fitted to present them to the association. The proceedings of the convention this year may be expected to be particularly interesting.
