Tokyo Fire Service To Be Strengthened

The Tokyo Metropolitan Fire Board recently announced the establishment of a Disaster Protection and Ambulance Division as part of its plans to improve the fire service. Its present fleet of 69 ambulances will be increased to 80.

In addition, during the 1964 fiscal year three new stations will be completed, 11 stations will be reconstructed and 42 pumpers plus three ladder trucks will be acquired.
