The Washington Post, of the 17th instant, gives a report of the opening of the bids for fire apparatus, on the previous evening, by the Fire Commissioners, which we summarize as follows;
For Steam Engines.--The Silsby Manufacturing Company submitted a proposal for first size craneneck rotary Engine at $4,250; same, straight-neck, $4,000; second size, crane neck, $4,oco; straght, $3,750; third size, crane-neck, $3,750; straight, $3,500. A discount ot $500 if two Engines are bought. Metal work to be highly polished, nearly ail nickle-plated, and guaranteed for 12 years.
