To form an estimate of the magnitude of the H. R. Worthington Pump Works it would be necessary to go carefully over the large territory they occupy, and as this cannot be accomplished without inconvenience by every one interested, the company has devised a very attractive and effective means to show the extent of its great industry. A representative of FIRE AND WATER visited the offices of the company at 145 Broadway, this city, on Wednesday last, and inspected a series of well executed views of the works which will be placed with the exhibit at the World’s Fair. The pictures are thirty by forty inches in size, and are made by the bromide process, enlarged from photographs eleven by fourteen inches, and are very fine samples of this class of work 1 here are twelve pictures, showing, beside the exterior and interior views of the works at Brooklyn and foundries at Elizabethport, N. J., the following : At Brooklyn the machine shop, drying room testing room, heavy erecting shop, heavy machinery shop, draughting room and picture of a large triple expansion engine recently constructed for Villaseca, Spain. The Elizabethport pictures are exterior, interior and general views of the main foundry and that of number two foundry ; also a fine view of the annex to the Brooklyn works. The pictures convey a good idea of the great size and variety of the buildings and machinery of the Worthington Hydraulic Works, and cannot fail to interest those who view the Worthington exhibit at the fair.
