THE NICARAGUA CANAL.
The annual meeting of the Nicaragua Canal Construction Company was held at Denver, Col., June 21. The time of starting the construction of the canal was agreed upon for not later than October I at the very latest. It was also decided not to wait longer for Congress to take lavorable action upon the incorporation act now pending in the committee on commerce, but to take out general incorporation papers under a State law, most probably that of Colorado.
The old officers were re-elected : Francis A. Stout of New York, president ; H. C. Taylor of the United Statrs navy, vice-president ; J. W. Miller of New York, secretary ; Horace L. Hotchkiss of New Yoik. treasurer.
