The Brooklyn Board of Health.
IT has come to our knowledge that the Board of Health of the city of Brooklyn is permitting plumbing fixtures to be placed in dwellings without insisting upon the use of vent pipes from traps of wash basins, provided a certain make of automatic non-syphonic trap is used in connection with the wash basin.
We fear that this step will be the occasion for considerable future comment among the plumbers and makers of traps; to say the least, and provoke discussion as to the propriety of the Board of Health permitting the abandoning of a plan of air venting as simple and durable in construction as is possible to conceive of.
