The sudden death of Henry F. Bender, treasurer of the Gamewell Fire-Alarm Telegraph company. of New York, which took place on the evening of November 5 in the Grand Central station, Manhattan, as he was about to board the train on his way to his home in Mount Vernon, has caused a great shock to his family, his numerous circle of friends, and, not least, to the Gamewell company, of which he was an honored officer. The deceased man, who was advanced in years, was apparently i t perfect health when he left his office at 19 Barclay street, Manhattan, and had been for seventeen years treasurer of the Gamewell companv and director of the Gamewell Auxiliary Fire-Alarm company, as well as secretary, treasurer and director of the Michigan Auxiliary Fire-Alarm company. He was prominent in Masonic circles, and was a man respected and esteemed by all who knew him.
