SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR.

A country paper, speaking of a Southern village fire department, said: “Farmer Medder’s tobacco barn caught fire last week and burned to the ground. After it was over, the fire department arrived, and, not wishing to disappoint the public, gave an exhibition drill on the lawn, which was ereatly enjoyed by all present—except Farmer Medder.”

A Charlestown, Mass., roller skating rink has been burned out twice this winter, the cause of the fire in each case being unknown.
