New Richmond, Ohio, has entered into a contract to see secure electric power for their water works from Cincinnati. The present steam driven pump has been operated for years in rather a peculiar manner. This pump is mounted on a small incline car, on a track about two hundred feet long, their being four stations at which pipe connections can be made. The car and pump is moved up or down by a donkey engine, depending on the stage of the river. The pump has a capacity of two hundred gallons per minute, six inch suction and five inch discharge.
