SEWERAGE.
Sealed bids will be received by the city council of Beaumont, Tex., June 7, at 2 p. M., for the construction of a sewerage system. W. A. Ives, Mayor; George N. Harding, secretary. Alderman Carey has had ordinances passed by the city council of Chicago, Ill., for some big sewers back of the Yards. One is to be constructed on Robey street from the river at Thirty-ninth to Sixty-fifth street, another in Six'y-fifth street from Ashland to Robey, and another on Ashland from Sixtyfifth to Eighty-seventh street. These sewers will cost about $250,000, and will be works of no small magnitude.
The city council of Florence, Mass., has appropriated $75,000 for sewers.
