Santa Cruz Firemen Indulge in Water Fight
This is “war to the nozzle." The “boys” of Santa Cruz, Cal., are combining a test of their fire apparatus with a friendly bout with streams from the hose. The illustration shows the start of a lively water fight between members of the department, which originated when one of the men thought it would be great sport to soak his comrades while conducting the test. You may be sure the opponents reciprocated in good measure and the lively contest followed.
To Standardize Fire Equipment—The fire marshal’s department of South Dakota is making every effort to standardize fire-fighting equipment of different towns. It has been found where assistance has been sent from one town to another on account of different hose connections the equipment of one town could not be used in another, and the department is working to secure a standard all over the state to assure co-operation when equipment is called into use from different towns.
