S.D. State Fire Marshal Department Organized
The South Dakota State Legislature recently enacted legislation providing for the separation of the Fire Marshal Department from the Insurance Department. W. H. Walker was named fire marshal.
Included in the legislation are provisions for setting up an advisory board within the newly created Fire Marshal Department consisting of the following: Chief Burdette Sheldon, Sioux Falls, representing paid firemen; Chief Louis Harding, Pierre, volunteers; Lloyd Blomstrom, Winner, the petroleum industry; Robert Wilkins, Huron, the electrical industry; and S. J. Lovro, Sioux Falls, the fire underwriters.
