The commission appointed by Mayor Edgerton, of Rochester, N. Y., to act with Fire Marshal Herbert W. Pierce in the preparation of a new building code met last week in the Corporation Counsel’s office and organized. J. F. Warner was elected chairman of the commission and Special Assistant Corporation Counsel Benjamin B. Cunningham was made secretary. The other members of the commission are H. F. Atwood, insurance expert, William C. Barry, representative business man; and Fred Gleason, builder. In an informal way the members discussed the plans for their work. The commission will look over the code now in force carefully and suggestions will be made by the members in regard to advantageous changes. Two questions to be taken up which are of paramount importance were touched upon lightly. One is the fixing of the fire limits and the other the regulation of concrete construction in buildings.
