QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The following questions were among those asked at the extension courses of the New York Fire College, with answers by fire department engineers:
Question—You are the officer in command of an engine company and respond to a fire which is on the eighth floor of a loft builumg, 60x90 feet, in the high pressure district. You are first to arrive. What orders would you give, first, to your own company; second, to a hook and ladder company that reported to you in command of a lieutenant? What would you do on reaching the floor on fire? What orders would you give to the truck company on reaching the floor on fire? What size nozzle would you use on your line? State, in detail, the action you would take as to use of water, and how you would direct your stream after you had effected an entrance to the floor.
