PUMPING ENGINES
One of the two pumps at Mystic Lake has been disabled and it will take some time to make the needed repairs. These pumps are used for the purpose of lifting the water from the lake into the conduit, and at present the lift is only about a foot. The pump that broke down had not been used before since 1894, and its use at this time is due to the scarcity and low level of the water. The plant is entirely separate and distinct from the pumping station proper, which is located elsewhere.
