In the new engine house of the Great South Bay Water Company at Bay Shore (L. I.), N. Y. is a fine engine with a daily capacity of 2,000,000 gallons.

The duty test of the new pumping engines at Camden, N.J., showed that they were more than up to the contract. They will lift twenty-eight feet of water. Their capacity is 2,000,000 gallons each.

At Detroit, Mich., the fire department will erect two new pumping engines on the lighting plant dock. The cost is estimated at $30,000.

At Mechanic Falls. Me., two new pumping engines are to be installed—one for high pressure,and the other as a reserve.

Springfield, Ill., intends to purchase a new pumping engine.

The pumping facilities of West Philadelphia are to be increased .
