In Vancouver, British Columbia, a Chinaman was sent out post a letter in the red letter boxes owned by the Governent. “ John ” showed the letter to a couple of white men d asked them to direct him to the nearest box. They took m to a fire alarm box, told him to place the letter on the wer ledge and “ pull down the hook.” The Chinaman mplied with the directions, and stood listening to the achinery working until the firemen arrived.
