Promotions Made Among N. Y. Firemen
Fire Commissioner Thomas J. Drennan of New York handed out some real Thanksgiving last week by promoting five lieutenants to captain, ten firemen to lieutenant and appointing eighteen new firemen on probation. The promotions became effective on Thursday, November 26.
The new captains are August Ackerman. Jr., of Engine Co. 153; Valentine E. Shakespeare, of H. & L. Co. 79; Peter Brennan. of Engine Co. 280; Oliver J. Kline, of H. & L. 128, and George F. McGinty of Engine Co. 40.
