Practice Makes Perfect
The old proverb, “practice makes perfect,” was proved recently, when Hickham Air Force Base fire fighters responded to an engine fire on a 747 jetliner at Honolulu International Airport (HIA).
The emergency occurred only a month after state and Air Force fire fighters participated in a joint civilian-military aircraft emergency exercise at HIA. Air Force, Honolulu and Hawaii state officials staged a wide-body, jetliner crash exercise involving 200 casualties.
