ONCE having taken a modern firstaid course and learned first aid as it is taught widely to general groups, rescue personnel need not study too much further along that line to perform efficiently their duties; but they should have a better understanding of the few portions of the anatomy and their functions that are directly affected by most causes of rescue response than is ordinarily taught in the general first-aid class. They are few, and not too difficult to understand. They are: The circulatory system, the respiratory system and bone structure.
