NVFC EMS/Rescue Section Officer Nominations Due by January 1

The inaugural election of officers for the NationalVolunteerFire Council’s (NVFC)EMS/Rescue (EMS/R) Section will take place in early 2011. Nominations for the offices of Section Chair, Section Vice-Chair, Section Secretary, and three Section director-at-large positions are due by January 1. The elected officers, along with one director appointed by theNVFC Chairman, will comprise the EMS/R Section Executive Committee. Interim officers have previously been appointed by the NVFC Chairman until the election is held.

按照EMS / R部分操作原则es, current Section Chairman Ken Knipper has appointed three Section members – Lee Sachs, Suzie Hill Koklich, and Jim Gates – to serve as the Elections Committee. Section members wishing to be placed in nomination for office must submit their name to the Elections Committee no later than January 1. If more than one Section member is nominated for any of the offices to be filled, the Elections Committee will mail a ballot to all Section members eligible to vote no later than February 15.

In addition to Chairman Knipper, the current Sectionleadership由副主席乔hn Lyman, Secretary T.J. Nedrow, and NVFC-appointed Director Lee Sachs. All of the current officers were appointed by NVFC Chairman Philip C. Stittleburg after the Section was created at the 2010 spring meeting. The Section Operating Rules, which enumerate the manner in which Section elections will be carried out, were formally adopted in September at the fall board meeting.
