New York Cable Road.
The cable road that has for months been under construction on Third avenue, this city, is fast nearing completion. The various illustrations shown give an idea of the progress of the work, which is being prosecuted under the direction of J. D. and T. E. Crimmins of this city. The entire length of the road is some eight miles, there being a double track throughout. The work is well done, and reflects great credit upon the engineering ability of the contractors.
