The fire board of New Orleans, La., has adopted a resolution prohibiting firemen from assigning their salaries before being earned.—The Robinson Fire Apparatus Manufacturing company was awarded contract for a city service truck for service in Carrollton at $2,000.—The report of Chief O'Connor for the month of January showed a total of fifty alarms; total estimated loss, $519,912. with insurance involved to the amount of $694,450.
